The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will apply from 25 May 2018, when it supersedes the UK Data Protection Act 1998. It expands the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, and places a range of new obligations on organisations to be more accountable for data protection.

At Teknowhow we believe that our relationship with clients must be built on trust. We are committed to deserving that trust, and we take your privacy seriously.

 

Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when:-

  • enrolling onto a Teknowhow course as a learner

  • enrolling a staff member onto a Teknowhow Course

 

You can be assured that it will only be used in agreement with this privacy policy. This privacy policy will set out how Teknowhow uses and protects any information that you give us. This policy is effective from 1st May 2018.

 

Types of information we may collect:

If you are registering as a learner on a Teknowhow course:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Date of birth

If you a Company registering a staff member for training on Teknowhow course:

  • Company Name

  • Address

  • Contact Email address

  • Named Contact

  • Contact Telephone number

  • Learner Name

  • Learner Date of Birth

We collect and store contact details of our learners in the form of email addresses and mobile phone numbers to allow us to contact the learner direct for the following reasons:

  • To send Joining Instructions to the learner direct.

  • To gather feedback on events and programmes that have been attended by the learners.

  • To send text reminders and email reminders of upcoming training.

  • To enable the learner to inform us of any reasonable adjustments they require with the course or training centre.

What we do with the information we gather?

 

We require this information to book and register for learning on a course with Teknowhow. We will also use this information for internal record keeping. Teknowhow will never sell or give your details to anyone else other than awarding organisations such as City & Guilds (Awarding Body) https://www.cityandguilds.com/help/privacy-statement and UK Certificate www.ukcertificate.org unless we are required to do so by law.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

If you use the Teknowhow website, it may contain links to other websites/services that may be of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over those other website/services. Therefore, we cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement.
